The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of road construction at the intersection of Broad Street and Main Street in East Hartford on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

The intersection improvements at this location are part of CTDOT project No. 0042-0317. The contract was awarded to Empire Paving a cost of $61,786,112.84 on April 5, 2021 with an anticipated completion date of August 16, 2024. This project is administered by the Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

Lane closures for secondary roads including Broad Street and Main Street may occur Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m
