The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the temporarily closure of the Maple Street on-ramp (Ramp 5C) in East Hartford to Route 2 WB (Hartford) from Thursday June 15, 2021 until Saturday June 24, 2021, weather permitting. This closure is being implemented to provide increased safety to the traveling public while facilitating construction work on DOT Project number 0042-0317. The contract was awarded to Empire Paving a cost of $61,786,112.84 on April 5, 2021 with an anticipated completion date of August 16, 2024. This project is administered by the Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
DETOUR INFORMATION
The detour route for the Maple Street On-ramp to Route 2 WB will be as follows:
Travel westbound on Maple Street
Turn right on Main Street and continue north
Turn right onto Sutton Avenue
Turn left onto Cambridge Street
Straight onto Route 2 WB On-ramp towards Hartford
Message boards and signage will be posted for detour route.
